In the year 202 BR the Great War of Sorcers occurred. The land that was scared has been re-branded as The Wastelands with the parts that still forest vegetation only to those that chose to stand with powerful sorcerer's but never took action.
Millions of people died, and many prospered with respective families claiming domain of regions. Close to allies, and sometimes even foe. Eventually the wars from such a calamity brought about much destruction and loss of life. Thinning the herd if you will. Only 8 families remaining, though only 7 still held their fields.
